watercolour testing

ok matt i'm gonna give this painted textures a wee bit of experimenting

3 basic colour layers in photoshop, grain, paint effects, texture added via filter effects
every paint splat is on its own separate layer and hue/saturation/lightness adjusted accordingly to allow the most control.

  1. The second ones really nice. The white splatterings need to be less noticeable, not because of the effect that they give but because their bleeding the colour out of the rest of it and will draw your eye a bit too much.
    But no really nice.

  2. ah but we need some gd old contrasts in there too methinks however for a base layer, your right, they prob need to be got rid of or toned down. the base layer literally needs to be fewer splats that bleed together a bit better (more like the first one) and then can be offset...the individual splats can then be added for the desired item being textured (second image)
