colour/texture experiments

spent most of the day working on the presentation for keiron. Decided to look at La Haine which has some great storytelling and cinematic elements to analyse.

heres a quick look of my display page for tomorrow...

Later that evening i started a few designs for the print of lady gnomes dress. Currently, her attire is simply just a dress, so to break up the block shape and colour, i think we need to add a pattern to her dress that give her detail. I create some pastel colour tests to experiment both with the basic dress colour as well as pattern included. Again in terms of the pattern im trying to keep things simple and "the idea of something" instead of reflecting reality. Ive mainly been experimenting with flower patterns and swirls as this is what i imagine Lady Gnome to have.

Ive also been experimenting with some basic mushroom textures to get an idea for how we might want the texturing to look. The below trials are a mixture of watercolours, pastels and a combination of the two. Will take all these in tomorrow to show Matt. Personally im liking the bright colours given from the pastels (top row right) but we'll see what the guys say.

collected stuff together to begin pinning stuff up on our board as its currently empty! dont worry chaps, we've been engrossed in story development though THATS the thing to get right right!?
also wrote a to do list after reading through the pre production list which im gonna pin to the board too and we can tick off as we go along. I honestly thought we could blast through this pre production process but its gonna take a bit longer considering what we are required to have done for the second pitch. I'll post a copy of the list on the team blog for digi reference.
